Topical Minoxidil: Hair Growth Agent

Drug Works Only While in Use

Every hair growth medicine is effective only during use. If you stop using the medicine, effect on hair thickening will be lost.

Effective hair regrowth medication cannot be stopped for the rest of your life. Continuous usage of hair growth medicine is essential to maintain hair thickness.

How long can we safely stop using hair growth medicine? If you forget using the drug for a few days, it doesn’t matter.

Even if you skip using the drug for two weeks during a business trip, for example, it is acceptable. After you resume using the drug, you can maintain hair thickness.

However, don’t stop hair growth medicine for more than 3-5 months. Hair cycle will go back to the state before the use of the drug.

If you stop using topical minoxidil for more than four months, for example, effect of minoxidil on hair thickness will be lost. You will have to restart the treatment with minoxidil from the beginning.

You will have to suffer from the second time minoxidil shedding (initial hair loss) if you are a responder to minoxidil. The degree of hair shedding caused by the second experience of minoxidil shedding may be severer than the previous one.

It will take 6-12 months to recover the hair thickness.
