Oral Minoxidil; Safe Dose

Introduction

Minoxidil; Oral Use vs. Topical Use:

There are two types of minoxidil. They are a tablet and a solution. Which one is more appropriate to be used for hair growth treatment?
The answer is a minoxidil solution. Minoxidil should be used as a topical solution in principle.

Oral intake of a minoxidil tablet for the treatment of hair loss is off-label usage and it is not authorized.
Off-label usage means that the use of oral minoxidil for the treatment of hair loss has not been officially approved.

Off-label usage of minoxidil tablets is not illegal, but usage of oral minoxidil for hair regrowth doesn’t have data to support the safety.
It can be said that oral minoxidil has potential risks of health and it cannot be recommended.
