Q 24.
Can a Non-responder to Finasteride Increase Hair Thickness?

What if we take a double or triple dose of finasteride?
Is it possible for a non-responder to expect hair thickening with a double or triple dose of finasteride?

A 24.

A high dose of finasteride may work in some people, even if hair density didn’t increase with a regular dose of finasteride.

The author has ever prescribed 3.5mg finasteride to 10 patients who were non-responders to 1mg finasteride. Hair thickness increased in 4 patients after 6-12 months, whereas hair thickness didn’t increase in the other 6 patients. There wasn’t any side effect in these patients.

It means that 4 out of 10 non-responders to a regular dose of finasteride experienced increase in hair thickness if the daily dose was increased from 1mg to 3.5mg.

According to the author’s experience, about 40% of non-responders to a regular dose of finasteride responded well to the treatment with a triple dose of finasteride without any side effects.

For example, if you want to try high dose finasteride, you can buy 2.5mg finasteride tablets on the website. Or, you can buy 5mg finasteride tablets, and cut them into halves with a pair of kitchen scissors. 2.5-5 mg finasteride tablets are not expensive, anyway.
