Minoxidil; Frequent Questions and Answers-1

Q 10.
Does Minoxidil Shedding (Initial Hair Loss) Repeat in the Future?

As initial hair loss is so stressful, many people don’t want to repeat it again in the future.

A 10.

Initial hair loss (minoxidil shedding) is the phenomenon that can be seen only at the beginning of treatment with minoxidil. It doesn’t repeat from the next hair cycle as long as the treatment with minoxidil is continued.

If you stop using minoxidil for more than 3-4 months, the effect of minoxidil on hair follicle will be lost.
Then, you will have to suffer from initial hair loss once again, when you resume the treatment with minoxidil in the future.

Hair shedding caused by the second experience of initial hair loss (minoxidil shedding) may be severer than the previous one.
Furthermore, it will take 6-12 months to recover the thickness of hair with minoxidil treatment.
